ZHSS heavy steel structure and light steel structure has no unified standard, many experienced designer or project manager often said it can't fully be described , but we can consider with some data comprehensive consideration and judgment:
1), workshop crane lifting weight: greater than or equal to 25 tons, can be thought of as chongqing steel structure.
2), Steel weight  per square meter: greater than or equal to 50 kg/M2, can be regarded as heavy steel structure.
3), Main components: steel plate , the thickness is greater than or equal to 10 mm, light steel structure use this steel plate less.

In addition, there are some other reference value, such as the cost of per square meter, the biggest component’s weight, the maximum span, the form of structure, the height of eave, these above when determining if a plant is heavy or light steel structure  can provide empirical data, of course, now many buildings are sure of heavy steel structure, such as: petrochemical facilities, power plant, large span stadium, exhibition center, top or high-rise steel structure.
