No Pics.
Following a scheme to improve the low flow of the River, a new 16.3 MI/day Costain water treatment plant was constructed at Lane End in Kent. The project involved the construction of a 'chemical building', which houses chemical dosing plants, and a nitrate removal plant. The chemical building is a steel portal frame with a curved roof, spanning 43m x 12m, and is 4.2m high. The purlins and frames are designed to be able to withstand loads from a 169kg/m cable tray, which is hung from the purlins and rafters.
