Introduction
DP World Reefer Gantry Metal Frame Work Extension | Made In China ZHMAs the second largest container terminal , DP World handles an increasing volume of cargo and requires continual investment in the container terminal. As a result, ZHM Huawu Steel were awarded the DP World Contract for a reefer gantry extension. Reefer gantries provide a safe and efficient method of providing power for multiple stacked refrigerated containers simultaneously. The reefer gantries are steel frame reefer rack structures that provide DP World staff safe access to the reefer containers.
The project also involved the design, engineering, fabrication and installation supervision of the electrical distribution and PFC power factor correction equipment, sockets and lighting including trenching, ducting and connection to the adjacent electrical substation.
Summary of the Scope:
Design, engineering, fabrication, delivery & Supervision of Construction:
- A full height steel frame gantry structure
- Electrical works for the distribution / power factor correction, switched reefer sockets and lighting
- Connection to an existing substation
- Design and construction supervision for Excavate trenches and install ducts from the adjacent substation to the distribution equipment located in within the reefer gantry extension
- Design and construction supervision for suitable load bearing concrete pads to support the reefer extension columns
- Design and construction supervision for F900 rated reinforced concrete draw pits
