Our resort and recreation owner client's vision of a hotel addition that would include a naturally lit pool area became a reality through ZHM engineering.
To provide the most transparent solution, ZHM developed a single layer dome with lightweight trussing as structural reinforcement. Concentric ring trusses act as tension rings at the base, midway and at the top of the dome.
By using the glass structurally, ZHM completely eliminated a layer of heavy aluminum mullions. Glass panels were economized by making the geometry into trapezoids instead of triangles.
