50m Span Two lane Roadway Through truss Steel Bridge Construction Project
No Pics.
This 50m through-truss steel bridge was erected to span a tributary of the River Nile. The design includes a 7.5m two-lane roadway. The majority of the poorly built, temporary bridges that had previously been used in Sudan were only been wide enough to allow one vehicle to cross the bridge at a time. Unsurprisingly, this resulted in a high number of accidents occurring on Sudanese roads. Now, lorries can be driven along both lanes of the bridge, with plenty of room to spare on either side.
